# Banana cat game: the hide-and-seek, clicker and escape games, explained

Source: https://roam.lol/banana-cat-game/. Checked November 5, 2026.

Banana cat games come in a few kinds: Banana Cat: Hide and Seek on phones, a free Banana Cat clicker on Steam, and small web puzzles like Hiding Banana Cat and Banana Cat Escape. All of them riff on Sad Banana Cat, the crying cat in a banana suit that took off on TikTok in March 2023.

## Banana cat games you can play now

None of these are official. The meme has no owner that makes games, so every banana cat game is a fan or indie take.

- **Banana Cat: Hide and Seek (phones)**: By Vietnam's CAT Studio, called Cat Escape: Hide and Seek on Google Play since July 2023. Sneak the cat to its favorite food without being spotted by a Shiba dog. Free with in-app purchases.
- **Banana Cat (Steam)**: A free clicker published by Sciorda Inc., out since July 7, 2024. You click a "catnana", and idling earns catnana items you can trade on the Steam Market.
- **Banana Cat Escape (Agame)**: A 2023 maze puzzle by Harbi Games. Push boxes onto switches and slip past patrolling enemies to reach the exit.
- **Hiding Banana Cat (GirlsGoGames)**: A small web puzzle game built around keeping the banana cat out of sight.
- **itch.io fan games**: Small fan projects share the name, such as a Banana Cat arcade game where you collect bananas to stay alive.

## Where the sad banana cat came from

The first banana-suit cats came from a March 2021 Facebook compilation by Sin Achilles, with no tears at all. The tears arrived on March 17, 2023, in a TikTok from the Happy Happy Happy Cat account @happyhappiihappy where the cat ends up in a hospital. Within weeks fans posted drawings and a 3D model. Know Your Meme lists Indonesia as the region.

It borrows from an older meme, Crying Cat, a photo edit of a cat with huge watery eyes that was everywhere by 2018. The banana suit adds the joke: a costume made for fun, worn by someone having the worst day. That is also why it suits games: the player's job is obvious, cheer him up or get him home.

## Three banana cat game ideas

Keep it short and soft: one sad moment, one clear way to fix it, and a happy ending you can replay. On Roam, Whisker Bay is a cat mischief sandbox in a harbor.

- **Cheer-Up Errands**: A weepy kitten in a banana costume walks a rainy town. Find five small fixes: a lost sock, a new ice cream, a friend at the window. Each one makes the rain lighter.
- **Tear Flood**: His tears fill the room. Climb the shelves and curtains before the water reaches you, and grab tissues to slow it down.
- **Peel Slide**: The costume is slippery. Slide downhill, grab fish, and steer around puddles that start the crying again.

## Play it on Roam

- [Whisker Bay](https://roam.gg/play/whisker-bay/): One ginger cat. Four flowerpots. Ten minutes.
- [Pill Paws](https://roam.gg/play/pill-paws/): Grab the pills. Dodge the house.
