Gegagedigedagedago is the nonsense chant from a garbled cover of "Cotton Eye Joe", sung by a chicken nugget with a Roblox-style face. Know Your Meme credits the cover to TikToker @razioff in July 2023 and finds singing-nugget videos from @wenonugget starting August 22, 2023. It exploded in January 2024 and brought a wave of new listeners to Rednex's song.

How the nugget learned to sing

Two things merged. The sound: @razioff posted a gibberish "Cotton Eye Joe" cover on July 15, 2023, and the audio used in nugget videos is titled "Gegagedigedagedago", credited to OmegaPumpkin. The picture: a nugget wearing the default Roblox man face, which @wenonugget used for singing covers from August 2023, starting with James Brown's "I Got You (I Feel Good)".

The big wave came in late January 2024, when versions by @wenonugget and @kellanbigmoney passed millions of views within days. Rednex credited the meme with a surge in plays that spring.

Who started it is unconfirmed. Know Your Meme's two entries on the meme give different first dates for the nugget and the sound, so expect to see both.

Where the nugget shows up in games

There is no official nugget game. The best-known fan project is Twiddlefinger, a Friday Night Funkin' mod by modder Gibz, released on GameBanana on July 1, 2024. The player is the nugget, up against a sinister version of Max, a character from YouTube animator Max Design Pro. It went viral within days, and Max Design Pro mentioned it in a July 5, 2024 video.

Why it works: the meme is one sound and one face. The chant becomes a power-up, the nugget becomes the hero, and the kitchen becomes the level.
